Driftfield
An inertia space shooter: drift through a field of asteroids that split as you shoot them, with a saucer that leads its shots.

Momentum is the whole game. Thrust and your speed carries; let go and you keep drifting. The screen wraps at every edge, so a shot or a rock leaving one side comes back on the other. Asteroids split when hit — a large into two medium, a medium into two small — and the field gets busier before it clears.
A saucer arrives on a schedule and fires with aim-lead, aiming where you are going rather than where you are, so sitting still is not safe. It runs on a fixed clock in your browser with a seeded field, so the daily board is the same rock-for-rock for everyone that day, and it keeps a local high-score list.
